ESSENTIAL INFORMATION FOR PARENTS

Absent Notification

Reporting an Absence at Orewa Beach School

There are a number of reasons why a child may not be able to attend school on a particular day.

It is very important that the school office knows if your child is not coming to school and what the reason is.

Use our School App:

  • to call the office and/or leave a message, or
  • email using the school app.

Please include these details with your message:

  • the child’s name
  • the child’s area or teacher’s name
  • the reason why they are not attending school

Please let the school office know this information by 9:00 am on each day your child is not attending school.

Early Pickups

If you need to pick your child/children up early from school, you must report to the main office.

If you need to pick your child/children up early from school, you must report to the main office. Parents and caregivers are not permitted to go straight to classrooms without reporting to the school office first.

You will be required to sign your child/children out and a staff member will organise for your child to come to the office to meet you.

Please be mindful of morning tea times (11 am- 11.20 am) and lunchtimes (12.50 pm – 1.45 pm)  when picking up early and plan your pick-up time around break times.

Lunch Orders

Ordering a School Lunch

At our school we work with EzLunch, they provide warm and cold lunches to order. Parents pre-pay on-line and order to have a freshly prepared lunch delivered to the school office before our lunch break begins at 12:50pm. Children can pick up their lunch from the office when the lunch break starts.

EzLunch has a good range of meal and drink options on their menu, and the lunches are popular with the children. A copy of the menu is available on their website.

To order a school lunch you first need to join:

  • Go to the website and open an account.

You can prepay money into the account to cover lunch orders for multiple days.

Please remember: Lunches must be paid for and received before 9:00 am for same day delivery.

Dental Service

Dental Service
The dental van visits our school for 5 to 6 weeks. Over the last few years this has occurred in November, where all children are seen by the dental therapist.

The closest dental clinic in an emergency is located at Silverdale School, their phone number is 09 426 8470.

Parent Teachers Association (PTA)

The 2023 PTA members are Emma Botherway – PTA Chairperson, Kelly Fearon- PTA Secretary.

The PTA usually meets on Thursdays of weeks 2 and 7 of each School Term, when aspects of the School programme are reported on by the Principal.

This is an excellent opportunity to meet other parents and find out about the school. Meetings are advertised through the School Newsletter.

Through the excellent activities organised by the PTA the school is able to raise funds that increase the range of facilities and resources within the school. Without this excellent work the school would not be able to offer the same high level of educational opportunities that they do. It is important that we have a good level of parent support for these activities.

Raffles, the selling of various products, an annual BBQ and other activities really help fill the school coffers!

If you like to find out more, please contact the school office.
