Kea Team

Welcome to the Kea team! Our Year 4 team is a caring and committed group who work together to support our tamariki to thrive across all areas of their learning. We place strong value on building positive relationships with both students and whānau, and believe open communication is key to success.

We create a warm, inclusive environment where every learner feels safe, supported, and encouraged to be their best. With high expectations for all, we meet each child where they are at, helping them grow in confidence and capability. Our classrooms are filled with fun, engaging lessons that spark curiosity, promote inquiry, and inspire a love of learning, while encouraging students to motivate and support one another along the way.

We also place a strong emphasis on fostering independence and developing caring, conscientious learners. Students are given meaningful opportunities to take on responsibility and contribute to our school community through roles such as Kaimahi - OBS lunchtime peer mediators, buddy reading with junior classes and P.E. monitors. Alongside classroom responsibilities and clear homework expectations, these experiences help build confidence, leadership, and self-management skills, setting our learners up for success as they move into senior school.
